Justin Anderson Nails Down His First Save
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels relief pitcher Justin Anderson allowed an earned run, a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in an adventurous ninth inning, nailing down his first save of the season Sunday against the Texas Rangers. He needed 29 pitches, throwing 17 for strikes, while also uncorking a wild pitch. However, he settled down when he needed to and got the save with Hansel Robles and Ty Buttrey unavailable. Robles threw 40 pitches over the past two days, and Buttrey logged 17 pitches in each of the previous two games. Anderson might be called upon for an occasional save if Buttrey and Robles are unavailable, but his fantasy value remains rather minimal.
