Mitch Garver Making Progress
6 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (ankle) caught a bullpen session on Saturday and has been hitting in the cages. He has run in straight lines but hasn't progressed to running the bases yet. Garver appears close to a return from the injured list. The 28-year-old has surprisingly been one of the better hitting backstops in the majors before his injury, slashing .329/.418/.747 with nine home runs, 20 runs scored and 19 RBI in 79 at-bats. If he was dropped by his previous owner and you're struggling at the shallow catching position, he's worth picking up right now.
