Derrius Guice Expected To Be Ready For Training Camp
6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Derrius Guice (knee) is expected to be full-go at training camp this summer after missing all of his rookie season after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. Head coach Jay Gruden said Guice is making good progress. “Derrius is coming along very well. We’re just trying to make sure that leg — his quad and everything — is full strength before we let him go. That will probably be another thing we’ll wait for training camp as well,” Gruden said. Guice's health will make all the difference in a crowded backfield that also includes Adrian Peterson, Samaje Perine, Chris Thompson and rookie Bryce Love. Guice should see the lead-back role if he's healthy, but it's not exactly clear yet how this backfield will shake out.
