Carson Wentz Could Sign Big Deal Before Season
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles could lock quarterback Carson Wentz up to a big long-term extension before training camp. "My belief is that deal will get done at some point this offseason," ESPN's Adam Schefter said. Executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman said in March that "having Carson here long term is our goal" and the organization will "work toward that." CEO Jeffrey Lurie said he would "absolutely" be comfortable extending Wentz despite the fact he's coming off two serious injuries the last two years. It signals that the Eagles don't think the stress fracture in Wentz's back is a long-term concern. A deal with Wentz could net him around $30 million per season.
