Will Dissly 2019 Player Outlook: A Sleeper at Tight End
6 years agoIt’s really, really easy to forget about Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly. After all, he only played in four games last year, suffering a season-ending knee injury early into Seattle’s Week 4 contest against the Cardinals. However, in basically just three games, Dissly did haul in eight receptions for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns - numbers that could make him a top ten TE option next season if he can maintain them over a full 16-game slate. Seattle does have competition at that spot, with veteran Ed Dickson and Nick Vannett both in the picture, along with Jacob Hollister and even George Fant, a converted lineman who caught one pass last year for a nine-yard gain. However, if Dissly is healthy he should be the starter, and while Seattle is notorious for under-utilizing their tight ends (remember Jimmy Graham?) Dissly could be a nice late-round flyer. Quarterback Russell Wilson connected well with Dissly last season, and his size could make him a nice red-zone target for a team that needs them. Don’t take Dissly too early, but keep an eye on him in deeper leagues - particularly best-ball formats or leagues that start two tight ends.
