Antonio Brown 2019 Outlook: Excuse Me, Just What The...
5 years agoOakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown was the talk of the NFL and fantasy communities earlier this offseason. After all the drama with his former team and former teammates, Brown ended up in Oakland and will be a Raider for the 2019 season. Then the drama, dare we say, intensified. From frostbitten feet to reports than Brown will refuse to play unless he can wear his old helmet, it remains to be seen just how the move will affect Brown's fantasy value, with some analysts calling it a mostly lateral move and others seeing it as a massive downgrade. Brown is too consistent and too talented to move from the top-10, but it is likely that his age and a new (less talented) team could cause his numbers to drop a bit in 2019. Then, of course, there's the risk that he'll take things further than most expect and actually sit out for a silly reason. He put up an excellent 2018, catching 104 passes for 1297 yards and 15 touchdowns. Those numbers might all take a small hit this season, but he also won't have someone with the talent of JuJu Smith-Schuster to compete with, so who knows? Brown is still a top receiver in redraft formats and is a great buy-low target in dynasty leagues for win-now teams despite the risk involved with his off-the-field troubles.
