6 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher A.J. Alexy (latissimus) is battling a strained right latissimus muscle, and he has been shut down for six weeks. He was one of three players acquired at the non-waiver trade deadline in 2017 from the Los Angeles Dodgers for starting pitcher Yu Darvish. In addition, shortstop prospect Chris Seise (shoulder) had labrum surgery on his left shoulder and he will miss the remainder of the season. It's the second year in a row he has been shut down, as he had right shoulder surgery last season.--Daniel Dobish
