Cal Quantrill Poised In Big League Debut
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Cal Quantrill had an encouraging debut despite a loss, lasting 5 2/3 innings and surrendering two earned runs. Quantrill allowed six hits and a walk and was able to successfully work around jams most of the evening. He fired 87 total pitches and struck out three. The Padres young rotation has been an impressive surprise this season and Quantrill pitched well enough for consideration of another opportunity. However, it remains unknown how his usage will be if he sticks with the big club. The team’s No. 12 prospect is not a fantasy option until further notice.
