Luke Gregerson Inching Towards Return
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Luke Gregerson (shoulder) is moving to Double-A Springfield for the next few days. Gregerson is nearing the end of his rehab assignment for a right shoulder impingement and has been feeling "tremendously better." The plan is for the veteran reliever to be used in a less-structured manner. Gregerson has allowed one run on four hits while striking out seven and walking none in his eight minor league outings so far. The 34-year-old has been injured for much of his time with the Cardinals and threw only 12 2/3 innings last season. His return will help boost St. Louis' bullpen, but he's unlikely to have much fantasy value in a setup role.
