Miguel Cabrera's Numbers Should Improve Soon
6 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman/designated hitter Miguel Cabrera raised his average to just .263 after a two-hit performance on Tuesday, but his three RBI and .681 OPS are well under his usual standards. His average exit velocity of 93.7 mph shows that Cabrera should start to see better results soon. However, an average launch angle of just 6.3 degrees is concerning, as it's half his career norm, which explains why he entered Wednesday's game with a career-high 1.45 ratio of grounders to fly balls. Cabrera isn't the elite hitter he once was, but he's still fantasy relevant. If he doesn't start hitting the ball in the air more, though, his season-long home run numbers may suffer.
