The Brooklyn Nets increased their playoff chances with a 133-128 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo sat the contest out for Milwaukee, who have already clinched homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs. Brooklyn's win keeps them locked in as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and 1.5 games clear of the ninth-seeded Miami Heat. The Nets close the season with the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat, so their triumph on Saturday may prove to be vital.
And the Philadelphia 76ers thrashed the Chicago Bulls on the road 116-96. Joel Embiid led the way with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, adding three blocks on 9-for-16 shooting. The 76ers appear to be locked into the third seed in the Eastern Conference but could draw a problematic first-round matchup if they end up having to face the young, upstart Brooklyn Nets. The two teams split their season series 2-2, and it seems likely that the 76ers would prefer to draw one of the other organizations fighting for that position. If your fantasy league ends on Sunday, there is nothing to worry about here. But some fantasy groups will be going to the final day of the season on April 10th, and it has already been reported that Tobias Harris will likely miss one of the last two contests for rest.
In an ideal world, Harris would play Tuesday and rest Wednesday to provide maximum opportunities to field a full lineup on both days, but it is a situation that you should monitor if you own the 26-year-old.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot Scores 14 On Saturday
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot scored 14 points with six rebounds, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in 27 minutes against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Luwawu-Cabarrot has now reached double figures in scoring for four consecutive games and is a realistic option to own in standard leagues due to Chicago's lack of consistent scoring options. The 23-year-old draws the New York Knicks on Tuesday and the Philadelphia 76ers again on Wednesday.
Jakarr Sampson Scores Career-High
Jakarr Sampson contributed a career-high 29 points with eight rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one three-pointer on 11-for-17 shooting during the Chicago Bulls loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Sampson's 29 points didn't help the Bulls, and the team still lost by 29 points, but it seems likely that the 26-year-old will get a serious look from the organization on Tuesday and Wednesday. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Sampson, but he should be a fantasy commodity you consider owning for the final few games of the season.
