Jacob deGrom Strikes Out 14, Earns Win
6 years agoMake that two wins in the first two starts this season for New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom. The reigning NL Cy Young winner easily handled the lowly Miami Marlins, going seven innings and allowing just three hits and a walk. He struck out 14 batters, the most he's ever recorded in one game. Rounding out a sensational performance, he smacked a home run to help himself out, scoring one of six runs his offense would record on the night. Along with deGrom, the Mets are rolling early on, now 5-1 on the year.
