6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks pitching prospect Jon Duplantier, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has been called up to pitch in relief. It could be just a temporary move to provide some length in the bullpen after the Diamondbacks pitching staff was shelled in the opening series against the Dodgers. Infielder Ildemaro Vargas was optioned to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Duplantier, a southpaw, went 5-1 with a 2.55 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 in 74 innings (16 starts) in two minor league stops in 2018. He won't be of any fantasy use out of the bullpen and is just a name to watch in dynasty leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
