Jack Eichel Registers A Pair Of Helpers On Friday
6 years agoBuffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel posted assists on both of his team's goals in a 3-2 overtime loss at the hands of the Florida Panthers on Friday. The 22-year-old has become one of the game's most valued puck distributors and his two helpers moved him into fourth place in the entire NHL in assists (27) this season. Through 27 games, Eichel has certainly made his case that he belongs in the early-season MVP conversation, given his ability to produce on a nightly basis (32 points) and take his team to the top of the NHL standings. Considering the young superstar is shooting at just a 4.6% rate on 109 shots (five goals), his production might even rise to another level when he inevitably experiences positive regression (career 9.3% shooter) in that category. He deserves to be started every time the Sabres play and will look to keep rolling when he next suits up on Monday versus the Predators.
