Andrew Luck Not Worried About His Arm
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is confident in his arm strength despite averaging just 5.3 yards per pass attempt (31st among 32 qualified QBs) through three games under new head coach Frank Reich. The Colts are ranked 23rd in passing offense as well. Indy's offensive line is pretty banged up, and the Colts have focused on quick, short passes to avoid Luck being pressured and sacked. “I know I’m at a level where I can make all the throws, and I feel confident I’m going out there with my full arsenal. I don’t think there’s anything physically holding me back,” Luck said. Indy is also averaging just 82.3 yards per game on the ground, which is the fourth fewest in the NFL, so opposing defenses haven't had to be honest. Given the team's injury and personnel, dinking and dunking in the passing game has been the smart play so far, but it doesn't mean it'll be the team's identity all year long. Against a strong Houston front this Sunday, don't be surprised to see this offense continue what they've been doing so far. Luck hasn't been attractive as a QB1 yet this year, but that could change.
