Antonio Gates Re-Signs With Chargers
6 years agoFree-agent tight end Antonio Gates re-signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Gates was expected to rejoin the Bolts right after Hunter Henry suffered a season-ending knee injury in May. The 38-year-old Gates should immediately step in as the starting tight end. He's not the elite fantasy tight end he used to be, but he has chemistry with quarterback Philip Rivers and should be a red-zone weapon if he can stay healthy. Gates can be a touchdown-dependent TE2 late in drafts.
