Adrian Peterson Agrees To Join Redskins
6 years agoThe Washington Redskins signed free-agent running back Adrian Peterson (Cardinals) on Monday, adding a much-needed boost to their beleaguered backfield after losing rookie Derrius Guice (knee) to a season-ending injury in early August. Peterson is being brought in to give the team some experience, but also depth. The club also lost RBs Byron Marshall and Samaje Perine to ankle injuries in the most recent preseason game, so only Rob Kelley and Kapri Bibbs were left standing from a group which looked to be rather deep just a few weeks ago. The 33-year-old Peterson is excited to join the team, but he still averaged just 3.5 yards per carry last season in Arizona. He's a bit long in the tooth, and should only be nabbed in the late rounds as a depth fantasy option at this point.
