Joe Mixon Needs Help From Offensive Line
6 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has managed just 17 rushing yards on seven attempts, or 2.4 yards per rush, through two preseason games. Sure, the preseason is meaningless in terms of fantasy, but it could be a sign of things to come. The offensive line is a work in progress, as offensive guard Clint Boling is strong, but the right side was a disaster in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas. OT Bobby Hart started at right tackle, but was abused by DE Demarcus Lawrence, and OT Cedric Ogbuehi was worse. OG Alex Redmond is in the mix to start at right guard, but he was flagged for a false start in his limited action. The coaching staff wanted to test the right side of the line early, running behind them frequently, but it looked like more of the same for an offense which ranked 32nd in the league in 2017. Mixon can be a fantasy stud, but he needs help.
