Samaje Perine, Byron Marshall Should Be OK
6 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said running back Samaje Perine (ankle) is OK after twisting his ankle in the preseason game on Thursday. Running back Byron Marshall (leg) is "OK" after undergoing an MRI exam, too. Perine is expected to battle Rob Kelley for the lead-back duties now that rookie Derrius Guice (knee) is done for the year. Any missed time for Perine, though, is bad news, as Kelley is already believed to be the favorite for the job. Perine is probably just a handcuff option in deeper leagues for Kelley owners right now. Marshall is the backup to third-down back Chris Thompson.
