Ezekiel Ansah Won't Be Held Back
6 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia said he won't be holding defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (hamstring) back during the preseason. The oft-injured defender made it through his first practice of training camp on Monday without setbacks. Ansah can be a difference maker for the Lions and IDP gamers, but he's missed time the last two seasons with knee, back and ankle injuries. His delayed start to camp was due to a tweaked hamstring during a conditioning test and not offseason knee surgery, according to a person familiar with the injury. Ansah is not expected to play in the preseason opener on Friday. He led the team with 14.5 sacks in 2015 but has just 14 sacks in the last two seasons combined.
