Javorius Allen 2018 Player Outlook: Interesting Zero-RB Target
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Javorius Allen was one of the beneficiaries of the season-ending knee injury suffered by Kenneth Dixon in 2017. Forgotten by the coaching staff in 2016, Allen racked up 841 yards from scrimmage and added six touchdowns in 2017 in a change-of-pace role behind starter Alex Collins. The 2018 season could shape up similarly. Dixon is already injured and his role is unclear even when he does return. Collins is locked in as the team's early-down starter but he is not known as a pass-catcher. Allen is skilled in the passing game and should remain the team's preferred third-down back heading into the season. While he won't be leading his team in carries Allen remains a solid flex option in PPR leagues, especially once the bye weeks begin. Allen's receiving skills make him worth targeting late in fantasy drafts, especially for zero-RB drafters in PPR formats.
