Chad Bettis Nearing Return
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Chad Bettis has been on the shelf dealing with blister issues, but his rehab start on Saturday went off without a hitch. He reported no issues with the blister on his right middle finger after he threw 74 pitches. A rain delay cut the outing short at that point, but Bettis seems ready to return to the regular rotation. That said, the Rockies are coming off their best pitching month in franchise history, so surely there will be a little trepidation about rocking the boat. Manager Bud Black indicated that the team will be having discussions about Bettis' next step, but he did join the team on the way to St. Louis. That's where the Rockies are set to begin their road trip on Monday.
