Dennis Schroder Dealt To OKC
6 years agoThe Oklahoma City Thunder have reached an agreement with the Atlanta Hawks and will acquire the services of guard Dennis Schroder. In exchange, Atlanta will recieve forward Carmelo Anthony, who will be waived, and a protected 2022 first-round draft pick. The sixth-year man, who has been on the trade block for quite some time, had his best season to date in 2018, averaging 19.4 points per game. He also averaged a subpar 43 percent shooting from the field in his final season with the Hawks on 17.1 attempts per game, but will likely see a dip in that department as he will now be the third option behind guard Russell Westbrook and forward Paul George. However, his durability will help offset his shoddy shooting numbers and he will likely get his fair share of playing time, whether it be in the starting five or off the bench, on an OKC team that isn’t very deep.
