Mark Ingram 2018 Outlook: Great Numbers Expected Post-Suspension
6 years agoFor the first four games of the 2018 season New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram will not be eligible to play following a suspension handed down by the NFL. Alvin Kamara will take the lead back duties, but upon return, Ingram will still have great numbers.
Ingram is coming off of a season where he had 230 carries for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns with an additional 58 catches for 416 yards as he was a true PPR gem. With the 280 touches in 16 games last year, it is still reasonable for Ingram to have around 200 touches in 2018 if he is healthy for the 12 games he's eligible for.
He would have likely been a second round draft pick in fantasy football this season had he not been suspended, but as long as you can weather the storm of the first four weeks, Ingram would be a solid grab for your team. The discount for Ingram currently slots him in the fifth round, but some leagues may have him drop to the sixth round. At that point, grab him from the draft board and stash him for those first four weeks then once he returns, plug him into your lineup and feel confident in doing so.
