Willie Snead 2018 Outlook: A Need For Snead
6 years agoThe New Orleans Saints thought they had a solid receiver to complement Michael Thomas and they were right. Only it was new acquisition Ted Ginn not incumbent Willie Snead. Snead started the season on a three-game suspension and never really found his footing in the offense. This led to Snead signing with the Ravens this off season, which could lead to good things as the Ravens are in a paltry state at the position. With only Michael Crabtree and John Brown really there to challenge him, Snead should be able to take over the slot role as the WR3. With the injury history of Brown potentially limiting him for a few games, Snead could take the opportunity and run with it. If Joe Flacco wants to keep his job for the entire season, he will have to be less conservative a la Alex Smith last season, meaning more throwing. Willie Snead is not a number one receiver but after last season and his depressed value, he can be had in very late rounds and could bring upside in PPR leagues.
