Wayne Gallman 2018 Outlook: Odd Man Out In New York
6 years agoSolid games at the end of 2017 looked like it meant big things this season for former Clemson running back Wayne Gallman, Then the Giants brought in Dave Gettleman as the general manager and all plans changed. He signed Jonathan Stewart to a guaranteed contract and drafted Saquon Barkley from Penn State with the second pick in the draft. This relegates Gallman to at most a third-string back in the offense, making him a no-go in fantasy drafts. Barkley is a stud in the making and Stewart is a stud in the fading but both will get plenty of playing time. Barkley is a bonafide three-down back meaning he will only be spelled once in a while as there will be no committee in New York. If Gallman goes to another team, he could be a dynasty pick late, but for other league formats? Danger Will Robinson.
