Davante Adams 2018 Outlook: The Rise To WR1
6 years agoFollowing a breakout 2016 season that saw Davante Adams score 12 touchdowns with 75 catches and 997 yards, Adams was a hot name last off-season. With Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb also in town, it was hard to envision another season like that. Even the great Aaron Rodgers, and all of his typical magic, couldn't help everyone on the roster to a top 12 finish at their position.
Adams was able to silence any doubters though by posting his second season with double-digit touchdowns and finished as the WR14. The most impressive part is that Adams did a majority of this without Rodgers last year. Adams one game with Brett Hundley was slow after only catching two balls for 12 yards, but owners who hung in were rewarded.
Adams finished the season with 534 yards on 44 catches and five touchdowns. Now with Rodgers back and motivated, Adams could reach WR1 status in 2018. If you are drafting Adams though, don't draft for the touchdowns. Jimmy Graham could have something to say about another season of double digit touchdowns.
