Zach Ertz 2018 Outlook: Battle For Top Tight End Spot
6 years agoFor the third straight season Zach Ertz finished with at least 106 targets, 74 catches and 800 yards. He set a career mark in touchdown catches with eight as well. Oh, and he did this in just 14 games. For the third straight season Ertz finished with more catches than the most notable tight end in the league, Rob Gronkowski. Last season, the Eagles had many mouths to feed on offense, including the tight end position as Trey Burton's emergence helped in real life, but Ertz' fantasy owners could have been frustrated with the stolen targets. Burton is in Chicago now, and Carson Wentz should be ready to roll for a full season so Ertz has a legitimate shot at finishing as the top tight end in fantasy football this year.
Ertz is on the border between a round four pick and a round five pick, and is currently the third tight end being taken behind Gronkowski and Kansas City's Travis Kelce. With the Eagles roster the way it is right now, Ertz could very well be selected as the top tight end in drafts and it wouldn't be the craziest idea to do just that, as any of these top-three guys would be a tremendous addition to your team.
