Devontae Booker 2018 Outlook: Will He Lead The Commitee In Denver
6 years agoThe biggest question entering 2018 for Devontae Booker is if he will start the season as the lead back on the Broncos offense. With third-round pick Royce Freeman from Oregon, John Elway and the Broncos may be saying they have seen enough over the past two seasons to decide that the running back from Utah is not the answer.
He is a dreadful pass blocker out of the back field and his fumbling issues have been well documented. While he will be integrated in to the offense in some capacity following the departure of C.J. Anderson to the Panthers, the writing is clearly on the wall that Royce Freeman could get the lions share of the workload making Booker at best a late round flier or a solid handcuff in 2018 drafts unless he breaks out during training camp.
