7 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (oblique), who has been on the disabled list retroactive to May 10, is taking ground balls and hitting a little bit, but his return seems likely to be in weeks, not days. Zimmerman was struggling before his injury, too, hitting just .217 in 33 games, and the Nats have other options for first base, including Daniel Murphy and Mark Reynolds. With no clear timetable for a return, Zimm can continue to be left on the waiver wire in mixed leagues.
