John Hicks Continues to Start at First Base
6 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher/first baseman John Hicks took over the daily job at first base after Miguel Cabrera (bicep) went down for the season. The best part about Hicks is he has catcher eligibility in most leagues. That makes him a bit more of an interesting addition since many catchers are not reliable hitters. Hicks is batting .296 with five homers and 22 knocked in this season. He continues to draw starts at first base regularly, so owners looking for a first baseman or catcher should give him a chance.
