David Hess Struggles In Start Tuesday
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher David Hess didn't make it far into his start against the Red Sox on Tuesday, picking up his second loss of the season. Hess lasted only 3 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on five hits (including two solo home runs) and four walks with two strikeouts. The 24-year-old now has a 2-3 record with a 4.13 ERA, 18 strikeouts, 12 walks and eight home runs allowed in 32 2/3 innings pitched. He has had some decent starts, but a huge 2.20 HR/9 and underwhelming 4.96 K/9 limits Hess' fantasy value. Hess will face a tough Nationals team in his next start.
