BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 15% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It is not official that Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Luiz Gohara will make to starts in Week 9, but it is likely that he is a two-start pitcher. In his first start of 2018, he pitched four innings and struck out six Phillies. However, he also walked four batters and allowed two earned runs.
After finishing the 2017 season with 31 strikeouts in 28 1/3 innings, many expected a lot from the 21-year-old in 2018. An ankle injury delayed the start of the 2018 season for him, but poor minor league outings may have had some sour on the lefty. He allowed 12 runs in 15 1/3 innings in his rehab starts, but he still has potential to be a useful fantasy player.
Atlanta hosts the Mets for a doubleheader on Monday and Gohara is getting the nod for one of those matchups. As for Sunday, the starting pitcher has not been announced, but Gohara could be an option. Not only is Gohara a talented pitcher, but a strong Braves offense will also give him a good shot for a win as well.
