Joe Panik Plans to Be Back in Six Weeks
7 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik (thumb) is with the club on Wednesday but is not expected to return to game action for six weeks. Panik had surgery on Monday to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. Kelby Tomlinson and Alen Hanson are expected to share the playing time at second base. Fantasy owners with a disabled list slot available can hold onto Panik in NL-only leagues, but otherwise he belongs on the waiver wire.
