Keynan Middleton Still Not Officially The Closer
7 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia does not believe in labeling pitchers and therefore won't officially name reliever Keynan Middleton as his closer. Scioscia mentions that he could foresee situations where Middleton comes on in the seventh or eighth innings if they need him to. Middleton notched his fifth save on Saturday and threw in a losing contest on Sunday. He has a 2.08 ERA and a 12/4 K/BB ratio in 13 innings. Scioscia has always made fantasy owners cringe, and Middleton's value takes a hit with this news. However, he's still a solid closing option and should be owned in 12-team leagues and beyond.
