Wilson Ramos With A Homer Tuesday Versus Texas
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos hit his first home run of the season Tuesday versus Texas. Ramos got off to a terrible start offensively and has been fighting back the last few games. He is now batting .220 (it was .115 six games ago). Ramos spent much of the 2017 season fighting injuries. He only managed to play 64 games but still provided some flashes of his 2016 ability. He would hit 11 home runs while keeping the strikeouts low. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 home runs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher like a Russell Martin or Brian McCann despite the slow start.
