Patriots Signing Jordan Matthews
7 years agoThe New England Patriots signed free-agent wide receiver Jordan Matthews to a one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Matthews is apparently healthy after having knee and ankle surgeries last December, and he helps fill a need after the club traded Brandin Cooks to the Rams on Tuesday. Matthews will have to prove he's healthy after playing in just 10 games while catching 25 passes for the Bills. However, he should compete for slot duties, and taking passes from quarterback Tom Brady will be a huge upgrade for him. Matthews won't generate much draft buzz in fantasy drafts this fall, but he could be worth taking a late-round flier on in PPR leagues.
