7 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Willy Adames is one of the highest touted prospects for the ballclub. After five years in the minors, he is still only 22 years old. Adames appears to be in prime position to become the franchise shortstop in the near future as Adeiny Hechavarria has the great defense but limited offense. Adames combines strong defense with a mixture of speed and power (11 steals and 10 home runs in Triple-A last season). The scouting reports also say that he has the batting ability to end up near the top of the batting order as a table-setter. He is a solid add in a dynasty format for those who do not already have any of the top few amazing young shortstops. In redraft formats, you will possibly need patience as the ballclub may delay his arrival with the major league roster in order to prevent his service clock from starting before the deadline in order to gain an extra year of control but he could contribute later in the season.
