Jake Marisnick's Defense Will Keep Him In Astros Outfield Mix
7 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick hit a career high 16 home runs but struck out 90 times in only 256 at-bats in 2017. Marisnick is a fantastic defensive outfielder but will have to fight to stay in the lineup this season with prospect Derek Fisher expected to see more playing time. He will also have to improve upon his .311 on base percentage in the regular season and hitting only .250 with 25 strikeouts in 64 at-bats with runners in scoring position. But his ability to hit the ball with more authority helps justify keeping him in an already potent Houston offensive lineup and could be in line for another 250-300 at-bats. Marisnick should be drafted in most fantasy formats but a hot streak or two could put him on the fantasy radar as a short-term option at some point this season.
