Mike Zunino Will Bring Power, Strikeouts To Fantasy Table
7 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino bounced back from a catastrophic start to his 2017 season and finished with 25 home runs, 64 runs batted in and a .251 batting average. It was feast or famine for Zunino, who racked up an astounding 160 strikeouts in only 387 plate appearances. Zunino got off to a rough start last season and even found himself in the minors after hitting .179 with 25 strikeouts in only 64 at-bats in the month of April. He was recalled and then produced one of the best offensive months of any player in fantasy last season, socking 10 home runs and driving in 31 all in the month of June. Zunino is a streaky power hitter, as evidenced by Zunino's .338 average with 11 extra base hits in September. He will get another shot this season and is completely capable of hitting 20 or more home runs. But will provide little else in fantasy making Zunino a late-round flier, at best, in upcoming drafts.
