Maikel Franco Looks To Bounce Back
7 years agoThird baseman Maikel Franco made a solid impression in 2015 when he played 80 games with the Philadelphia Phillies. Since then, however, there have been signs that point towards not believing in the hype. After all, he’s dropped 25 points in batting average for two consecutive years. His BABIP has also dropped significantly in each of the past two seasons, but his K% has dropped and his BB% has held steady. Additionally, the 25-year-old is set for two prominent bats as protection in Rhys Hoskins and newcomer Carlos Santana. Home run totals of 25 and 24 in the past two years, respectively, are also worth believing in, as is his durability. Franco’s biggest adjustment will have to be improvement in selection of pitches to hit. What works best in favor of fantasy owners will be the Dominican native’s price drop, as you should expect to see him available later than usual. Once again, you should expect a home run total approaching 30, and with better protection, perhaps better hitting selection will improve his average.
