Michael Kopech Likely To Pitch In The Big Leagues In 2018
7 years agoRanked as one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball, starting pitcher Michael Kopech will look to his major league debut this year with the Chicago White Sox. Kopech spent much of the 2017 year in Double-A where he went 8-7 with a 2.87 ERA and had a K/9 of 11.7 in 22 starts. The right-hander then got a cup of coffee in Triple-A to finish out the season. Kopech's fastball can hit triple digits and he has the pitching selection of a potential number one starter. Although he is likely to start the 2018 season in Triple-A, it is likely that he will get a chance to pitch in the majors in 2018 for the rebuilding White Sox. His high strikeout rate will help fantasy owners and as long as he controls his command, he will be an asset. Kopech should be owned in all dynasty and keeper leagues. If your league allows you to stash minor leaguers without taking up a roster spot, he is worth drafting later in mixed leagues.
