Eddie Rosario Looks To Continue Improving After 2017 Breakout
7 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario put together an impressive breakout season in 2017. The 26-year-old outfielder finished the season with a .290/.328/.507 slash line, 27 homers, 79 runs, 78 RBI, and nine stolen bases in 589 plate appearances. Much of Rosario's success in 2017 can be attributed to improved discipline at the plate as the outfielder cut his strikeout rate down to 18.0% after striking out at a 24.9% rate or higher in his previous two major league seasons. While his 5.9% walk rate from 2017 will never get him confused with Joey Votto, he did increase that mark by 2.5% from the previous season. The improved selectivity at the plate allowed Rosario to post the highest batting average of his career despite posting a career-low .312 BABIP. Provided he's able to keep up his improved plate discipline, Rosario should continue to be a force in fantasy leagues this season.
