Mookie Betts Looks To Regain Top-10 Status
7 years agoBoston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts is a first round talent and will continue to provide that value in 2018. In 2017, he slashed .264/.344/.459, with 101 runs, 24 home runs, 102 RBI, and 26 stolen bases. Betts’ 2017 stats represented a down year from his American League MVP runner-up performance in 2016. If there was a cause, it was his uncharacteristically low .268 batting average on balls in play. The last time Betts had a BABIP under .310 was when he was in Low-A. There will almost certainly be a positive correction and it will result in an increased statistical output. In 2018, Betts is batting leadoff and almost assured of 100 runs, 20 HR, and 20 SB. Betts will continue to be an anchor for your dynasty team. In redraft leagues, Betts will be drafted in the first round, potentially as high as fourth overall.
