Giancarlo Stanton In The Bronx Post-MVP Season
7 years agoStriking a deal with the Miami Marlins, the New York Yankees acquired outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, setting up a dream duo of Stanton and reigning Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge. The key for Stanton this year in New York, as was the case virtually every year in Miami, is to remain healthy and see out the season. It may come as no surprise that his 2017 MVP season, the best of his career, came as he played a career-high 159 games. If he remains healthy this season, he’s looking at another prolific season at the plate. Mixing the insane protection his lineup will give him with the dimensions at Yankee Stadium, the natural letdown off last season shouldn’t be as drastic. Stanton is a borderline top 10 pick, and if he happens to fall down to you a couple of spots later, do not hesitate to pick him up.
