Jake Odorizzi Is A Talented Depth Player In Fantasy
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi is talented, but his actual stats do not jump off the page. He tends to have an ERA somewhere between the mid-3's to last season's 4.14. His WHIP is solid (1.24 in 2017), but not enough to be a difference-maker except in deep formats. He plays in a pitcher-friendly ballpark, but is in a division with powerful offenses. Another issue for those waiting on the young Odorizzi to develop is that he really is not that young anymore, as he turns 28 just before the season starts. He should be treated as a solid SP5 or SP6 in 12-team leagues with the talent to exceed that price.
