Albert Almora Looks To Gain More Starts In 2018
7 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Albert Almora is coming off a strong season despite not garnering many starts. The young outfielder hit .298 with eight home runs and 46 RBI over 323 plate appearances in 2017. As a pinch-hitter, he hit a stellar .341. Almora drew most of his starts versus right-handed pitching, but could get more run against lefties during the 2018 campaign. The outfielder remains more of a NL-only stash and dynasty stash. His stellar defense will give him the opportunity to stay on the field but ultimately manager Joe Maddon will decide how much he plays. The Cubs have many outfield options such as Ian Happ who can play center field along with Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist. It would be best to avoid Almora in upcoming drafts until he has a firmer grip on the job.
