Amed Rosario Looks To Improve As Sophomore
7 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario didn’t have the best debut, offensively, as he would have hoped. That might be a generous way to put it after he finished with a 1.8% walk rate and 28.8% strikeout rate after 170 plate appearances as a rookie in 2017. On the plus side, he did show some pop with four home runs, speed with seven stolen bases, and some of the great defense that helped make him one of the best prospects in the game. Unlike fellow struggling former top prospect Dominic Smith, Rosario has nothing to worry about in terms of playing time – the position is his. To be fantasy relevant though, he’ll need to pick up his game big time at only 22 years old. It may be a bit of a tall task this year, but if you have deep benches, he could very well be worth a spot at the end of it. He obviously remains a golden hold in dynasty formats.
