ANALYSIS: If you're looking for consistency, Howie Kendrick is your man. Kendrick has hit .285 or higher each of the past five seasons. He has never finished a season below .279 and has a career average of .290. Kendrick is way off those numbers so far, with a line of .222/.278/.287 at the moment. A hitting streak is almost certainly in his future, as there is no reason he should fail to approach those numbers by season's end. Kendrick provides modest power and speed as well. He has reached double-digit HR on four occasions and double-digit SB six different times. Kendrick's positional versatility is an added bonus. With the myriad of injuries in the Dodgers outfield and their recent decision to waive Carl Crawford, Kendrick is sure to be in the lineup somewhere each night. Right now, Kendrick is a bench stash until he picks up the pace. Once he gets going, he can be a valuable contributor across multiple categories and at multiple positions as well.
