Week 6 MLB Starting Pitcher Depth Charts for Fantasy Baseball
It is pretty impressive that John Lamb can throw pitches from anywhere between 65-91 MPH to batters like Ryan Braun and Chris Carter and have such a solid outing. There have been plenty of non-high profile pitchers that have emerged as great situational starters this season. Tyler Chatwood for example, who has pitched so well outside of the HR-friendly shell trap known as Coors Field. Rich Hill has come out of nowhere to produce a very high K-rate for anyone able to take advantage of him through a spot-start.
What is important this week is that the Angels once-mediocre rotation is even more mediocre now that Garrett Richards is out for the season. That has to sting for anyone hoping that the Angels would capitalize off of the little fact that they have the most overall talented player in the game. Players like Steven Wright have questioned the very fabric of what we thought a relevant starter would be this season and he once again had another great outing against the Yankees. Dallas Keuchel had a good game on Saturday and finally seems to be getting back to the Dallas that was the AL Cy Young last season. You know who people should actually be concerned with? King Felix. Nothing should make someone's heart sink faster than Felix's frightening drop in velocity. The Brewers sent Taylor Jungmann down to the minors. Even though that makes their rotation more depressing to observe, it is the right move for him and every other young gun who is struggling so immensely. What is really going to shake up MLB depth charts are the looming prospect call-ups and returns from injury. Now that Bartolo Colon seems destined to win a Silver Slugger award after his divine HR, what will happen to the Mets rotation after Wheeler returns? Who will leave the Red Sox rotation when Rodriguez returns? (That one is a little clearer) Either way, continue to familiarize yourself with the MLB depth charts for every team and be ready to act when the ranks shift.
